Research Group

The Department of Ophthalmology of the University Basel has a long and well known tradition for research. The focus of research is glaucoma which includes diagnosis (e.g. perimetry), ocular blood flow measurements, pharmacology, pathology, and molecular biology etc.

In particular, our focus is on the development of glaucomatous damage.

The strength of our research is that it emcompasses all aspects of clinical research up to the fundamentals.
